eCabinet Report

The Government are keen to ensure Irelands continued development as a progressive Information Society and take the view that in this regard the Government should lead by example.  Accordingly, consultants PWC were retained to research technology possibilities and best practices and to make recommendations on an eCabinet model.  Specifically they were asked to focus on:-

• Electronic distribution and management of Cabinet papers    

• Use of technologies in direct support of Cabinet meetings

• Use of technologies to improve presentation of complex issues at Cabinet, and

• Creation of new information resources.

The result of their research, together with their recommendations on eCabinet (which as an initiative has since been approved by Cabinet for implementation as part of the Governments wider agenda to better harness technologies to e-enable government processes) is set out in the report below.
