Taoiseach Meets with Croatian Prime Minister in Zagreb
Taoiseach Bertie Ahern, T.D. will hold bilateral discussions with Croatia’s Prime Minister, Ivo Sanader in Zagreb today (29 November).
The discussions with Prime Minister Sanader will cover EU enlargement (the EU formally agreed to open accession negotiations with Croatia in October 2005), the situation in the Western Balkans and the development of economic relations between Ireland and Croatia.
Ireland’s bilateral relationship with Croatia was greatly strengthened in 2004 when the Taoiseach and Prime Minister Sanader worked together on the issue of Croatia’s objective of becoming a full EU Member.
