No. 32 of 2002 - Planning and Development (Amendment) Act 2002
What does this Law do:
This law makes changes to the housing supply measures which are in Part V of the Planning & Development Act 2000
The three main changes are: to restore the normal 5 year life to certain planning permissions which because of the 2000 Act would otherwise have expired after two years; the ways in which developers can provide social and affordable housing as part of new housing developments were made more flexible; the requirement to provide a certain number of social/affordable houses in a new development was applied to smaller sites. (The limit was reduced from 0.2 hectares to 0.1 hectares).
This new law also made changes to two Housing Acts.
