No. 33 of 2002 - Statute Law (Restatement) Act 2002
What does this Law do:
This law confers on the Attorney General power to make more readable versions of statutes available in printed or electronic form. These updated versions to be known as restatements are administrative consolidations of certain Acts and do not alter the substance of the law. Restatements are prepared by Government Departments and certified by the Attorney General as Restatements. Once certified they are laid before the Houses of the Oireachtas and after the expiration of 21 days may be cited in court as prima facie evidence of the law set out in them.
